Let me tell that we had a total of four tours with Japan Wonder Travel during our week in japan and all of them were exceptional. The FooDrink Tour in Asakusa was one of my favorites as we were guided by Yu and Yukio who are extraordinary people. What is this tour about?: you will walk a lot, a lot, so be prepared. Although the tour is focused on food and drink, you will have an explanation on cultural and historical issues about Asakusa. The drinks are a set of Japanese beers at a local pub, a set of Sake cups in a local store and you will have some local dishes with drinks on two small restaurants. This is not a "gourmet" experience, you will have local food and drinks, but this is what makes that tours awesome; you will walk, eat and drink as a local. So, if this is the kind of experience you are looking for, you will not be disappointed.

This was a great, fun tour and Yukio was a fantastic guide and provided many fascinating insights to Japanese culture in general. Glad l took this tour on my first night in Tokyo as it provided a great introduction to Japanese food (delicious!) and drink and gave me added confidence to be bold with my eating and drinking choices the remainder of my trip.

I can not speak highly enough about this tour. They accommodated my late arrival - and the two tour guides Fumito and Chihiro were so informative and personable. This is a must do for anyone visiting Japan, anyone who wants to get a real look at Japan from the eyes of a local. You just could not have an experience like this alone. Make sure you include this as part of your Tokyo plans - you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to come back and do it again!

It was a pleasure taking the food and drink tour with Yukio. He was informative and took us to places we would not have known about to go.We had a good introduction to Japanese food and drink. When tour was over he even helped us get on the subway since we were apprehensive about taking it thinking we would get lost instead of taking the more expensive taxi.It was very comfortable with Yukio, its a good tour to take during your trip to Tokyo and Japan.

We had a great time on our tour yesterday. It's our first time in Japan and our guide made sure to show us spots we wouldn't have found/tried on our own. Thanks again and we can highly recommend it.

This tour was great! We tried a nice variety of food and drink, and learned a lot. Met a sake tasting master! It was great to go to places with a local, trying things I would not have known how to order. Thank you so much for the lovely evening!

We had a great time with Toshi. Lots of information and laughs. It was nice to eat and drink with a local and ask all those questions we had about all kinds of customs and such. Would recommend this tour.

Excellent Tour. Our guide Toshi was extremely hospitable and succeeded in providing us with a wonderful experience. Yu also shadowed us on the tour and arranged for prompt accommodation at each location we visited. I highly recommend this tour as provided by Japan Wonder Travel.

Our tour with Yu was like having a local family member introduce us to the Asakusa district. The tour was a great way to get comfortable over a few beers and glasses of sake plus, bites of local food with a great guide. We recommend the tour to everyone. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had a wonderful evening of good food/drinks and great company, led by Michiko, who took care of every detail and was relentless in her pursuit to ensure we had the perfect tour. This gave us the confidence to explore and enjoy Japan over the next 10+ days. Thank you very much for giving us a good start to our Japan trip!

by Fantastic and awesome tour! Thank you!!! (01/17/17)
I went on this tour with Yu as my guide. He was very entertaining. It was just myself and one other person, small group tours are the best. It was a great way to experience the local nightlife. Walking around the neighborhood, stopping by the various izakayas(local pubs) drinking Japanese brewed beers and sake, sampling delicious appetizers. The area was full of activity in the evening with all the people going around drinking, eating, shopping. Highly recommended !

We did the Asakusa street food and local drink with Yu and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. He was very passionate and interesting. He showed us places that we would never have discovered on our own and we were able to try lots of local food and drinks. The highlights for us were definitely the Hoppy drink and the Tokyo "pancake"! As we lived nearby we were able to come back and sample some more of these on our own like locals! (Well almost!). I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone that wants to discover more about the neighbourhood of where Japanese people go out. Good value for money!

This is a wonderful and intimate tour. A small business that caters to your specific wants and needs. It was like hanging out with new friends who casually threw in great information. Every restaurant we went to greatest us with the utmost respect. Our favorite place was visiting the first sake master in Tokyo. We bought his store out! By the time we left, we were ready to party harder! I recommend this for anyone looking to try good food and sake and immerse themselves in the night life. Michiko was the best!

This was easily the best tour we took while in Japan! We loved it. Ichi was our guide and he was very personable and knowledgable. We got to try different Asahi beers, went to a sake/liquor store were we tried different sakes. The sake master was there and offered personal suggestions for us. We ended taking a bottle home. Ichi then took us on a walk around Senso-ji temple where we were able to get some photos that we didn’t get the day before when we explored the temple on our own. We then headed to get food. Ichi did the ordering for us and we tried lots of different things. He listened to our likes and dislikes and chose what to order from there. I can’t remember everything that we ate but I remember a beef intestine soup, chicken skewers, fried tofu, and fried ham. From there we headed to our last stop to get okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes), which were delicious! This tour is great. It allows you to order and try things that you might not know how to order if you tried to do it by yourself.
