Take a train heading south from Tokyo for about 1 hour and you will get to Kamakura, the old Shogunate capital of Japan.
Kamakura has many historically significant Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, so you may be able to somehow still feel the samurai power at the historic sites, such as Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Hasedera temple and the Great Buddha! You can also explore the local shopping street “Komachi Dori”.

Just a terrific experience all around. Our guide Yoshika showed us a number of attractions that we would have otherwise not found ourselves. She was delightful in sharing her knowledge, on top of which she picked a fabulous Japanese restaurant for lunch. Highly recommend.
