The walking food tour far exceeded our expectations. Yumiko-san was waiting for us at the designated meeting point area, with her great smile. She was the perfect guide since she loves Kyoto so much. We saw many places that if we went on our own would have missed. The bamboo forest was awesome. Don't miss it. The food was also better than we expected. But the best part of our tour was Yumiko-san. She was so friendly, the 4 of us never stopped chatting and laughing, exchanging stories. Thank you again for making this tour so special. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

We had a wonderful and yummy tour in Arashiyama, with much thanks to our lovely guide Masae who fed us well, told us interesting stories and made us feel very much at ease the whole time.

My husband and I had such an amazing time! Kazu-san picked out some delicious food (the okonomiyaki was my favorite!!!) and took us to wonderful shrines and temples. It was very informative and we really appreciated the more local shrines that were not as well known to tourists. Of course, the bamboo forest was breathtaking as was... well pretty much the entire tour! We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Kyoto. Arigatou gozaimas!!!

The Kyoto FoodDrink Tour was the top highlight of our visit to Kyoto! Our tour guides were knowledgeable, well-spoken, friendly, and extremely engaging. We couldn't possibly say enough great things about Yumiko and Kazu!!! Thank you both for making our visit to Kyoto so special!

READ THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM A WORLD TRAVELER: This tour was the highlight of our trip to Kyoto. We highly recommend Japan Wonder Travel team who were full of knowledge, energy and great memories. By comparison we participated in another companies tours to Kyoto and Nara which were no comparison. These guys are good and invested in "customer" experience. I am recommending them to my former Yokohama employer for visiting guests. I know who we will use on future trips to Japan! PS. Previous posted review on Viator site. Try these guys...,you won't be disappointed! Larry, Sherri, Pam and Mark

We had a great tour with Fuji-san in Arashiyama, despite the rainy weather. She was very friendly and gracious and went above and beyond by giving us 2 extra hours to make sure she covered all the spots. She introduced us to many interesting foods and places that we definitely would not have learned about on our own. We particularly got a kick out of the "kami no kami" (don't want to give away what that means, but it's unique). Ookini Fuji-san!

I seldom write reviews, but I make an exception for this marvellous. It's a hit for all the senses. Spectacular scenery, fascinating (and funny!) history, mesmerising architecture, secluded surprises you'd be hard to find on your own, intriguing tastes and smells that even a non-gourmet like yours truly can appreciate the details of. And not least: a fantastic guide (Fuji) who was erudite, entertaining, sincere, who involved herself in each tour participant so you really felt noticed. It was raining the whole day I did the tour, but I felt nothing but warm and delighted throughout. I recommend this tour with all my heart (and belly)!

The tour with Japan Wonder Travel was the highlight of our visit to Japan, We would highly recommend the tour and our guides. They made it fun, informational and catered to US the customer and audience. By comparison, we took two other Kyoto and Nara tours with Context Tours that started and ended as disappointing tours. Japan Wonder Tours put them to shame. Tours are made successful by connecting with the audience. This tour exceeded our expectations, fun, exposure to foods, personable, informational, and great value. We highly recommend the tour and this tour group. Don't miss this Kyoto tour! My first tour in Japan couldn’t have started any better. I must have been super lucky because I had my tour guide Koji san all to myself. He was informative and flexible to add my request to see Monkey Park in our tour. Also a great conversationalist and I enjoyed every bit. Food was endless and wonderful. Wish I had more room for it all. We saw so much and yes it is a lot of walking, especially the hike up to see the monkeys. It is all worth it. I have hundreds of pictures to share when I got back. I felt truly blessed to have met Koji san. He was kind to help me buy a train ticket and showed me how to get back. I hope he knows I’m truly grateful for his time and endless knowledge.

Had an amazing tour with Fuji-san! It was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone. All of the food was delicious (and filling!) and I loved learning about all of the sights and culture. Most of the temples and shrines we visited were off the beaten path and it was amazing learning about all of them. Both the foods and locations were things that I would have never found on my own. Fuji was happy to answer all of my questions about the Japanese culture and definitely went above and beyond to make sure it was a great experience. This tour was definitely the highlight of my time in Kyoto.

We had an amazing time!! Absolutely wonderful tour. Not only was the food AMAZING, but we loved learning about the history of Arashiyama, and some Japanese folklore from our friendly and knowledgable guide, Tatsuya. Our favourite food was the fried Yuba + Cheese. So yummy!! While all the food is fantastic, touring the temples and bamboo forest in between makes this tour so unique and special. Definitely a highlight of our whole trip to Kyoto!

Fuji Shigeko was our guide for the Arashiyama FooDrink tour, and she was an excellent guide. We really enjoyed the tour and the food tasting along the way. We were a group of six and Fuji was most attentive to our individual needs. It was a beautiful but unusually hot day, and Fuji structured the tour to make it as comfortable as possible. At the end of the tour, we had a dinner appt in the city which was going to be complicated for us to reach with the transfers involved. Fuji accompanied us to our meeting point for dinner making it much more relaxing for us.  She did not have to do this but went out of her way to help us!  Fuji has a great deal of information to share about the Arashiyama area and I would highly recommend her as a guide. A most enjoyable day!!

Went on the walking food tour with Koji. Very friendly, spoke excellent, if not perfect English and very intelligent and knowledgable. Really enjoyed this tour and his company!

My guide, Fuji, was an informative, delightful and helpful companion on the walk. The food stops were an opportunity to try delights that might otherwise have been missed. The temples and shrines were very interesting. Tenryu-ji temple garden was stunning and the bamboo grove is also something not to be missed. I was the only person on the walk with Fuji but that meant I was fortunate enough to have her all to myself.

Wonderful tour!! Kuji was very pleasant and knowledgeable and very easy to understand. He made sure the pace was appropriate and was interested in what we had questions about. Definitely recommend! One of our favorite tours in Japan.....and this was our second visit.

Amazing tour!!! Fuji-San went above and beyond to give us an incredible experience. She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also incredibly polite and conscientious. The tour was a great mix of not only food and culture, but also an opportunity to see the beautiful surrounding area and gardens. Highly recommend it! Lovely way to end at the tea shop with sweets

Loved the tour despite the rainy day. Tatsuya was a great guide and introduced us to food we would never probably have tried. Small group of 8 was just the right size; not to big. Food wAlking tours are a great way to see not just the main streets but the back streets and eating places you would never know were there. Loved the beautiful temples Tatsuya took us to. Great tour and guide!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience in this tour. We were only 3 couples so it felt like a personalized tour. Tatsuya, our guide is also one of the managers, was incredible and made us feel at home. We learned a lot about Japanese culture and food. He smiled all the time and was kind enough to answer all our questions. He also took great pictures of our group. I definitely recommend this tour. It was the best of all we had in Japan.

This was a wonderful tour with a terrific guide (I think the name was Koji?) He was very informative about the country and especially about the Arashiyama area. I learned details about the temples and shrines that I probably would not have found in a book! All in all, a great tour and experience. Food was very yummy also! Thank you!

We had a great time touring Arashiyama with Koji's expert guidance. The area is so beautiful and charming, and his insights made it even more interesting. It rained off and on, but our guide brought umbrellas and the rain didn't bother us at all. Magical places, and delicious treats along the way. Thank you, Koji san.
