We had a wonderful tour of the temples and shrines of Kyoto. Our tour guide, Ellie, was great at giving us an insight into the history and culture of Japan.

Our guide and our guided tour were absolutely amazing! One of our family members got sick the same day we would have our guided tour so we asked our amazing guide if we could postpone the guided tour one day and that was no problem. We felt that our guide really did everything she could for us to have a great day as possible. She also cared about the person who was ill and she was very helpful and suggested what he could do when he felt better.
We learned a lot about Japan and Kyoto on our guided tour, and at the same time had a great time together with our guide. She felt like a family member at the end of the day. We really want to recommend this!

3 wonderful days in Kyoto albeit a bit wet. We (5 of us) stayed at the lovely Grandbell Hotel in the Gion district which was perfect with walking distance to markets, restaurants and shopping. We had two full days with a driver and guide that were great. Our fantastic guide Keiji mad sure we visited all the sites we had planned and helped us re arrange some for the final day due to the bad weather conditions. With a smile on his face, always a story to tell he became a good friend and gave the trip the extra wow factor.

Keiji-San was a wonderful guide! He was completely accommodating to our requests for seeing gardens, shrines & temples. He gave us valuable insight into the history, culture and traditions and to the significance of each place we visited. He was instrumental in my finding a particular piece of art that I had set my heart on to buy as a lasting memento of my trip.

An excellent arrangement with a very attentive and knowledgeable guide, who spoke good English and was assisting beyond duty when required. Would highly recommend this company.

The full day, personalized Kyoto tour was fantastic. We went to the most popular and relevant attractions in the city (both historical and modern). Naomi was knowledgeable and very friendly.
On a side note, I was traveling from Osaka. This company (and staff) were so incredibly kind following the earthquake in Osaka and offered assistance, rescheduling and support. This genuine commitment to customers is a stand out.

We had a great tour with Akiko san of Kyoto and it’s surroundings. She was very helpful with taking us shopping for a Japanese doll. We also ended up having a great Ramen lunch at a place suggested by the tour driver. Finally, we were lucky to spot some Geishas in Gion district. Akiko san provided us with the history of the geisha culture. Overall an excellent day trip.

The customized Kyoto tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.
This was our last full day in Kyoto. Keiji was helpful from the start in mapping out our day so we were able to see everything on our list and so we would end up back near our hotel by the end of the tour. We went to the Fushimi Inari shrine, Arashiyama bamboo forest, Ryoanji temple with the rock garden, and Nishiki Market. We enjoyed all the beautiful sites in Kyoto.
It was a lot of walking, but Keiji planned our rest stops well and made it fun with all his jokes. Keiji also pointed out many great photo opportunities.
We would not have been able to get around Kyoto so well without Keiji! We are so glad to have met Keiji on our trip. We definitely would travel with Japan Wonder Travel again.

Amazing tours! Contact Japan Wonder Travel right now! I originally contacted them to schedule their full day Tokyo tour for my family while we were in port on a cruise. I was having a hard time finding tours in the other cruise ports so I asked if they could also coordinate tours in the other areas as well. Japan Wonder Travel put together an amazing itinerary with wonderful tour guides and drivers in each city!
This company far exceeded my expectations and made my family's stay in Japan so memorable :) I had read online that Sakaiminato was not considered a great cruise port but this turned out to be one of my family's favorite stops in part because of our great guide that setup personalized experiences and knew exactly where to take us (try the soy sauce ice cream!)
We saw so much and did so much including a visit to a sumo stable, picking green tea in traditional dress, making paper, tasting shochu, visiting beautiful shrines and temples, seeing a kabuki theater, tasting sake, etc, etc. But the best part was our tour guides. In between stops they kept us entertained with origami lessons in the car and were a wealth of knowledge. They were all so kind, had great English skills and did everything they could to make our time in Japan wonderful. They were so amazing that they would all check in with each other after the day was over and let the next tour guide know what we liked! I was on a search for a very specific salt and on the very last day the tour guide found it for me and told me she heard I had been looking for it! My family also took about 5,000 pictures and they were more than happy to point out the best spots or stand in the rain while my family posed for pictures for the hundredth time!
I cannot say enough good things about this company, the tour guides, the drivers, the itineraries, etc. If you have the chance to go to Japan, this is the company you need to work with.

Walk, walk and walk. If you are interested on truly know a city, you must walk it. We had a great day in Kyoto with Naomi, she was very kind and knows a lot the city, the traditions and the shrines and temples. She took us to Fushimi Inari Tasha and explained everything about the place. Then we went to Arashiyama forest and had lunch in a beautiful traditional japanese restaurant. Finally we ended in the Nishiki market.
The best of this kind of tours is that you travel by train, subway, and of course, walking, so you get immerse in the everyday culture of Japan. Also, Naomi suggested a lot of street food to taste as we moved form one place to another.
No doubt, get that tour, you can't go wrong with them!

Our tour of Kyoto with tour guide Michi started at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. I had been to Kyoto before but this was one of my requests for this trip. It was beautiful with all its red tori. I believe you can hike up a ways for a great view, but we did not do this. Maybe next time. We next headed to Arashiyama just outside of Kyoto proper to see the bamboo forest and monkey park. The Monkey Park was on my nieces wish list. Both did not disappoint. I wish we could have walked around Arashiyama a little. It looked fun with a ton of shops and eating places. Lunch was fantastic at the best tempura place in town according to Michi. The kids liked the matcha azuki bean shaved ice. We continued onto the Golden Pavillion and the Nishijin silk factory. Nishijin is famous for providing woven silk for kimonos. All in all it was a great day. Michi was very knowledgable and fun. I would highly recommend her as a tour guide and Japan Wonder Travel for all your touring needs in Kyoto.
