We had a wonderful time on the tour! Eri was so knowledgeable and helpful; she helped us find all of the food omiyage that we needed to bring home. It was also nice that the tour allowed for time to stop at different stalls and shops along the way. Eri was always willing to explain what certain dishes were or translate for us. The tour also accommodated individual preferences; you could get natural grape juice instead of sake, for example. We definitely got a great feel for both the Toyosu and Tsukiji markets and left with a better understanding of their history and offerings.

We had a wonderful time viewing the new fish market at Toyosu and wondering around the old shops and stalls at Tsukiji on June 27, 2019.
Our tour guide, Yoko-san, was fantastic. She was fluent in English, and she was great with both my 6-year-old son and my 88-year-old father.
The food and drinks on the tour were all delicious. Our favorites were the chutoro (tuna) and fugu (puffer fish) that we got at Tsukiji. I also quite enjoyed the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) and the sake from the street food vendors outside Tsukiji.
We ended the tour with a nice sit-down sushi lunch. Originally, we were supposed to go to a stand-up sushi restaurant, but my son was getting tired, so we switched to a place where he could sit and relax. Although I would've liked to have tried the stand-up restaurant, I'm glad Yoko-san was able to change plans to accommodate everyone in our group.
I'd happily go on another tour offered by Tokyo FooDrink Tour!

The tour was excellent. Initially I was planning on exploring the market by myself but I’m really glad I didn’t. Tsukiji has become such a tourist attraction that the hustle and bustle of the market can be very overwhelming. I am so glad I had such a great guide to take me through it all, she showed us so many things that I probably would’ve missed without her guidance. I ended up buying a beautiful Japanese knife at the market and my guide was so kind that she escorted me all the way to the tax free counter across the market so that I wouldn’t have to pay customs. The food was excellent and the tour was very eye opening. I learned so much and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Tsukiji fish market! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

Lilly was such a fabulous tour guide! I learned a lot about the Japanese food culture and got to try a lot of delicious and interesting food, fish, and drink through her. She is very passionate about giving these tours which is demonstrated through her willingness to adjust the tour to fit your particular interests and the amount of research she does to find the best and most authentic spots around the city. I was so happy to be able to meet her. :)

Great Tour, great Guide!!!

My wife and I went on this tour which included the new Toyosu Fish Market. Our guide, Tomo, was wonderful. She spoke good English, was very friendly, and was very knowledgible about the sites. The visit to the market was fascinating and she got us to try a variety of Japanese street food. However, the Toyosu Fish Market portion of tour was a waste of time. You basically saw nothing of the market. If your primary reason for this tour is to see the Fish Market, don't waste your money.

THE FooDrink Tour was fabulous. Tomo was a great guide and we learned so much about Japanese cuisine and had fun! The Fish Markets were very interesting and we enjoyed the tastings and meeting the purveyors. Tomo provided history and context to everything we experienced. We had some delicious sake and sushi which Tomo picked for us and even bought us some dried mix so I could use the miso I bought to make soup at home. We also appreciated Tomo's help with returning to our hotel on the right subway and especially helping us buy the right pass. We recommend this tour to start off your Japanese adventure!

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Kazu. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about Tokyo and the fish markets, but he was just a great person to spend 4 hours with. Without a doubt, we wouldn't have seen or understand 70% of what we saw without his expert guidance and knowledge.
We had a blast and would highly recommend it and him specifically for any english speaking guests. It was well worth the money and made our last day in japan really memorable.
A few examples of the extra (above and beyond things): we were able to see parts of the old fish market that we wouldn't have been able to without him, he helped us find the Kabuki theater and let us know we could get "1 act" tickets for 500 yen ($5 dollars), he showed us this incredible sword store, AND he sent us all our pictures aftewards.
Great guy , great tour!

Kazu was very knowledgeable and absolutely amazing! He showed me around the fish market and tailored the tour to my preferences. He even went out of his way to help me figure out how to ship a piece of art I had bought back to the USA! He talked to the post office for me, visited an office supply store, and communicated to my hotel concierge! He was very well versed in the history and current places of Tokyo. I was able to see and experience things I never would have been able to do if it were not for his expert guidance. I would give him 10 stars, if it was possible. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This tour and our tour guide, Mari, were fantastic! It was the first tour my friend and I did our first full day in Tokyo (from America) - we had a blast, tried awesome and eccentric food, and felt super welcomed by Mari. She spoke great English, knew a plethora of interesting info about the two fish markets, and took us around the outside fish market like locals.
I was impressed how much was included in the tour -we got a bunch of samplings from vendors Mari took us to, she bought us sushi at multiple vendors for tastings (freshest sushi I've ever had!), and interesting foods like sauteed scallops, huge oysters, and ninja beans. Plus, we had a sushi lunch... all included.
I especially appreciated that she approached my friend and I who clearly looked like a couple lost Americans at the train station trying to meet up with our tour guide - she politely came over to us and asked if we were there for the fish market tour... and on we went. It was also a cold day, and she could tell we were chilly - so she bought us hand warmers to be more comfortable! She went above and beyond to plan out the rest of our day and gave us her card in case we needed any help while in Tokyo.
Highly recommend this tour, especially with Mari!

This was an excellent tour. Tomoyo was an outstanding guide. I so appreciated her sharing of many Japanese cultural tidbits and customs. Her English was very, very good. It was great fun traipsing around the many little food shops in the Old Market and trying different things and looking at all the amazing produce and seafood. The street food there was excellent. I also greatly enjoyed seeing the new fish market and having Tomoyo explain the proper way to eat sushi and the seasonal "flow" of how sashimi is arranged on a plate. I highly recommend this tour.

Ari was awesome. Really loved this food tour. It was a small enough group to feel initimafe and personable. We got to tried a variety of foods at the Tsukiji Market we normally wouldn’t tried. Capping our day at a traditional standing sushi bar. Strongly recommend this tour!
