Tsukiji is a world-famous market and it is called “Kitchen of Tokyo”. A part of the market (Inner market) where they used to hold tuna auctions was relocated to Toyosu in 2018. But don’t worry, the outer market stays open with the same passion in Tsukiji! There are about 400 stores in the outer market and you will encounter many interesting ingredients and foods while walking through the market.

Our Tokyo FooDrink Tour will take you to some vibrant stores selling the best quality foods in the outer market. You can try a variety of Japanese foods ranging from finger foods to delicacies. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you a lot of tips about Japanese culinary culture during the tour. We also visit the small wholesale area and show you many kinds of seafoods and foods. Don’t miss to taste a fresh tuna there too! In the end of the tour, we go to the local Sushi restaurant and enjoy some fresh Sushi. Get ready to learn some facts about Sushi there!

Tsukiji Market could be overwhelming but your guide knows everything. Follow the guide and let’s eat and drink like Japanese local!

Yoshi is a terrific guide, full of detailed information and amazing facts about Japanese food traditions, seafood and more. If you want to know everything from how to select your favourite part of the tuna through to where Yoko Ono has coffee in Tokyo, Yoshi will know! One piece of advice: do not eat before you go. We had sushi, sashimi, sake, egg roll, fresh fruit and so much more all included in the cost of the tour. A terrific morning in Tokyo.

We really enjoyed the tour. It was a great way to experience the market and sample some wonderful food and drinks. The tour was excellent for families. Our tour guide, Mazda, was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. We recommend this fun, interesting tour!

Tour was informative, organized, and eloquently given. Yuko was an excellent guide and she paced our journey through the fish market perfectly. She was easy to talk with and ask questions to, and her thorough knowledge of each stop made the experience that more informative. Three hours flew by..

It´s been a great pleasure to know our guide, Mrs. Yuki! The Tsujiki Market experience is a MUST SEE in Tokyo, for sure! And if you have a guide like Yuki, It will be great. She taught us so many cultural and gastronomic things, that one visitor would never learn on your own. Great spot, for those who like to feel the city and its people warm atmosphere. Great fresh sashimi, sake and much more. Thank You, guys, we really love to be there!

This was one of the best experiences on our trip to Japan, and we recommend it to everyone with an interest in Japan's food & culture. Our guide, Yuki, was very knowledgable & savvy, and made sure we sampled all the delicacies on offer. If you are in Tokyo & have the time, this will be a morning well spent. Excellent!

It was good and informative. Learned a lot about the Japanese psyche. More power. Very crowded at Tsukiji before a long holiday. So much activity in the market.

It was an excellent tour! Very insightful. And it was only made possible because we have a very good guide with us: Sanae-san! Thank you so much for bringing us around and sharing with us the unique culture of Japan! Not only did we enjoy the great food, you made the tour very educational as well! We hope we can see you again if we join a Japan Wonder Travel tour in the future!

This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. Akiko is an amazing guide who goes above and beyond to ensure her guests feel welcome and immersed in the energy of Tsukiji market. Her local knowledge and passion for the culture can certainly be felt. I would highly recommend this tour, and if you are lucky, you can experience this with Akiko!
by Kathy C (12/27/19)
We had Akiko take us on our tour. We really enjoyed it!! There were only 4 of us on it so we got the opportunity to ask lots of questions and take our own pace. Great tastings - highlights were tuna sashimi, egg omelete and sushi meal. Would highly recommend. Thanks Akiko!!!

Excellent tour. Well worth the time and money. Toshi was a brilliant guide and we enjoyed our morning very much. We would not have got as much out of our visit to the Fish Market if we hadn’t done the tour. Domo arigato gozaimasu Toshi-san. Oishikatta desu.

We had an enjoying morning tour at the Tokyo Fish Market Tour@Tsukiji which is led by one of the wonderful guide - Lily. This tour not only visited the fish market and know its local food and drink such as egg omelette, tuna sasumi, fried fish cake but also the standing sushi bar as well as Sake wine tasting. We even meet some of the friendly and helpful food sellers as well as sharing some jokes and fun as if we are old friends and have not see for many years. Overall, we had an enjoyable and fun morning and I definitely recommend this tour to any one who have not been to the Tsukiji Market. The guide is knowledgeable and able to explain well in English.

The Tsukiji Fish Market Tour was fantastic. It would have been overwhelming to walk through by ourselves. We got to try a variety of food and all of us walked away stuffed to the brim! Tak was a great tour guide - funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. He was accommodating to all dietary needs and also gave our group a lot of recommendations on what to do in and around Tokyo. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour. Would use the service again for other tours.

I was slightly late to the meeting point so I missed the first hour of the tour. However, while I was wandering around the market taking photos, I got an email from the tour company noting that I hadn't showed up and asking if I was around. They ended up sending someone from their company to meet me and connect me with the rest of the group, and I finished the last 2+ hours with them. Mazda, the tour guide, was incredibly kind (and apologetic, although I don't think she needed to be), and the tour itself was great. She has great energy, and it was interesting, particularly the part about tuna (in my opinion). I would totally recommend this tour, just make sure you give yourself extra time to get to the meeting point, because the Tokyo subway system, although incredibly great, can be a bit confusing.

We took this tour as a small group and had a great time. Sachimi our guide spoke excellent English, provided a lot of information, on Tsukiji market, and Japanese life in general, which we all found very rewarding. I have been to Japan 18 times and still discover new things about the people and the country each time I visit - this tour is not only fun to do but answers a lot of questions you might have about the foodie culture of the Japanese people, goods that you see in shops, fashions and a whole lot more. Oh, and you also get to try some great local food... When booking, ask for Sachimi - Highly recommended

if you’re here in Tokyo for the food, you’ve got to go to the Tsukiji market and I can’t imagine you could get a better experience than being guided by this tour - the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Kyoko made our tour (with 4 of us) a standout highlight of our brief stay in Tokyo - do yourself a favour and book, you know it makes sense
by Mark Schramm (12/06/19)
We had a lovely morning with the delightful Yuki who showed us everything under the sun at the Tsukiji Market! Her easy, warm demeanour made the morning fly by! She was very accommodating as well as my father and uncle are not fans of sashimi! What a great morning! Thank you, Yuki!

Yuriko was an excellent guide, who gave us a thoroughly enjoyable tour of tsukiji. She was very professional and polite towards my husband and I, and also warm and friendly towards our children. Aside from her extensive knowledge of tsukiji, she also shared about a broad range of topics about japan. She paced the tour well, such that we could fully enjoy the walk and food. The tour was well curated, and each of the shop and food stops were excellent. Yuriko speaks perfect English. We were especially impressed by her thoughtfulness - getting toys and fruits for the children in lieu of raw sushi which they do not eat, preparing small handkerchiefs to dry their hands after they visited the toilet, bringing us to get an additional umbrella as it was pouring. She went out of the way to make sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of.

Japanese food appreciation is fascinating and is a never-ending journey. We joined the tour to deepen our understanding for this wonderful cuisine and it turned out to be one of the best things we did in Tokyo! Despite being a frequent visitor to the Tsukiji market, I was blown away by the new insights and knowledge. Thank you so much for making the food tour absolutely enjoyable Yoshimi-san - you were extremely patient, willing to share and as eager to learn! We really had lots of fun! I look forward to joining the other food tours Japan Wonder Travel has to offer in the near future too! Thank you once again

Went on the tsukiji market tour with Nao. Had a great time trying and learning about different foods and ingredients. Nao was an excellent guide - incredibly warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I really liked the fact that we had a local guide because it made the whole experience much more authentic and she had a lot of local insights into Japanese life and customs. Would highly recommend this tour
