TOKYO

Tsukiji is a world-famous market and it is called “Kitchen of Tokyo”. A part of the market (Inner market) where they used to hold tuna auctions was relocated to Toyosu in 2018. But don’t worry, the outer market stays open with the same passion in Tsukiji! There are about 400 stores in the outer market and you will encounter many interesting ingredients and foods while walking through the market.

Our Tokyo FooDrink Tour will take you to some vibrant stores selling the best quality foods in the outer market. You can try a variety of Japanese foods ranging from finger foods to delicacies. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you a lot of tips about Japanese culinary culture during the tour. We also visit the small wholesale area and show you many kinds of seafoods and foods. Don’t miss to taste a fresh tuna there too! In the end of the tour, we go to the local Sushi restaurant and enjoy some fresh Sushi. Get ready to learn some facts about Sushi there!

Tsukiji Market could be overwhelming but your guide knows everything. Follow the guide and let’s eat and drink like Japanese local!

I had an amazing time on the tour. Yuriko was an amazing guide and all the people that worked in the market knew her quite well which made the tour even better. The food and drinks were great. The sushi especially. It was so fresh and delicious that I can't wait to come back to have more. The sake was really tasty and I really enjoyed holding the massive knives used to cut up tuna.

Yoko was an excellent tour guide. She managed to give a very in-depth tour of Tsukiji. Not only that but she also shared a little about Japan culture. It was a very nice day spent at Tsukiji Outer Market. The sushi place was highlight. Side note, may I know the name of the sushi place? Highly recommended to all!

I went on a food tour with Japan World Travel to Tsukiji Market. During the tour, we went to several traditional food shops and restaurant in Tsukiji. The tour guide explained the detail about the history of each meal we ate during the tour. Since then I understand that each food has its own history, and its very interesting. The tour guide not only explained about the food and its history, but she also ask our opinion about the food, whether we liked it or not. I also studied several historic sites around the Tsukiji Market. It was truly a valuable and enjoyable experience I ever had. I had a pleasant time during the tour and It was such a great experience going on a tour with Japan World Travel. I would really recommend a tour with Japan World Tour for a traveller.

I had an excellent walking tour with Eri. Very knowledgeable guide who took my around the Tsukiji Fish Market in the morning. We tried a number of things from around the stalls including fresh tuna sashimi (first time trying this grade so fresh!). Eri introduced me to some different things to use in cooking. I came away with some dashi tea bags for making stock and wasabi sesame seeds which were new to me and I look forward to using at home. I highly recommend this tour and if you go make sure you take your time to explore!

My wife and I had a wonderful time with this tour. Our guide, Akiko, was so kind and helped us get a better understanding of Japanese customs and culture when it comes to food. She even helped us with our pronouncing the different Japanese salutations and forms of “thank you” and when and how you should say them. I highly recommend this tour, especially if it’s your first time in Japan. Also the food/snacks/drinks we were able to sample were delicious! Thank you, Akiko, for such a great tour. Arigatō gozaimashita.

The Tokyo FooDrink Tour of the Tsukiji Fish Market was one of the highlights of our sightseeing adventures in Tokyo (despite the freezing weather!). Kumiko was an absolutely wonderful tour guide who went above and beyond and made the tour very comfortable and personable.

My husband and I toured Tsukiji market with Chii. The tour was excellent--fun, informative and interesting. We tasted several different foods, any of which we might not have tried otherwise. Chii was great! She was patient in answering our many questions and was a wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend Chii and this tour.

A really enjoyable morning touring the market with our guide Kimiku Great interaction with the traders and some excellent food and drink. Kimiku had a great knowledge of the cultural relationship that the Japanese enjoy with their food,

We had a wonderful walking food tour of the Tsukiji Outer Market with Sanae. She was fluid in her approach, meaning if we pointed to a temple or shrine and expressed interest she would take us there and show us how to engage in a prayer! If we stopped and marveled at a stand of veggies, she would explain how Japanese people liked to eat that particular food. We saw two shrines, sampled sushi, drank green tea, tried katsuobushi, japanese omelet, fried fish cakes, fresh tuna, and even drank sake out of cedar cups that we got to keep as a souvenir. She was patient with our many questions about the food, the city, and the culture. It was the perfect way to orient ourselves on our first day in Japan. Communication with the company was very clear and detailed. Highly recommend.

Huge thank you to our wonderful tour guide Naoko. We had such a fun tour through the fish market today. Naoko is a super fun and extremely knowledgable guide, she taught us so much about the history of the area and we visited some outstanding food stalls along the way. We were travelling with our 11 month old baby and Naoko made the tour so easy and fun for her too! Highly recommend :)

Cannot say enough good things about our tour with Japan Wonder Travel and our guide Akiko. She was so knowledgable and also helped us taste all the market had to offer. I am really not one to do tours, especially of a market but genuinely felt that the tour deepened my understanding of both the market and Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend this tour!!!

Sanae, our tour guide was excellent. She was witty, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Loads of information about the uniqueness of Japanese food. Guided us to places, on our own, we would just pass by. Sushi prepared in front of us,eaten standing, in a small shop, was sushi heaven . Fresh savory sea food, great. Thank you, Sanae, for a wonderful experience. Nap and Luz

More than a walking tour of a fish market, this is a wonderful way to get insights into the Japanese people, traditions and way of life. My guide Kyoko was so generous in making this an experience I will cherish and adapting my interests into the stalls we visited. Highly recommended

Our tour guide, Fumiko, is the best! We were not expecting anything on this tour but she gave us an amazing tour of the Tsukiji market. She allowed us to experience the market as a local, shopped things like a tourist and even showed us one of the best wagyu shops there. Definitely worth to get this tour and have Fumiko as a tour guide.

It was such a memorable moment joining the Tsukiji Tour with Japan Wonder Travel. Naoko-san, our tour guide, is really warm and cheerful. In Tsukiji,we tried the fresh tuna, tamagoyaki, and fish cake. Overall, we really enjoyed spending 3 hours there with Naoko-san and friends. It's worth remembering:)

We absolutely loved our tour with Mazda as our travel guide. Not only was she full of interesting history and facts but was a lot of fun and enjoyed our sense of humor as keen aussie anglers. There was so much food and worth every cent. I would highly recommend this tour.

Mari gave an excellent tour, it was one of the highlights of my trip! It lasted about 3 hrs and included enough food so I was full by the end! Starts with a leisurely tour through the whole market, stopping a few times to try Japanese omelette, fresh tuna sashimi, sake, seafood Pancake ( but I think menu changes from tour to tour), then finished at this amazing local sushi restaurant. There were only 3 of us on the tour which made the experience even more personalized and enjoyable because we could talk with Mari about her life and experience. She took us through the whole market and was patient with us as we stopped to buy some items. She took some great photos that were then sent to us after the tour. As an American and first timer in Asia and Japan, this was awesome introduction to some of the delicious Japanese food staples. I just wish I had taken the tour near the beginning of my trip and not on my last day because I was so excited to eat more sushi after this tour. I also recommend trying a giant fresh raw oyster (largest I’ve ever seen) while on the tour; it’s not included but was sooo good. If you do it with Mari that is a plus too, she is such a knowledgeable and fun guide.

Yoshi is a terrific guide, full of detailed information and amazing facts about Japanese food traditions, seafood and more. If you want to know everything from how to select your favourite part of the tuna through to where Yoko Ono has coffee in Tokyo, Yoshi will know! One piece of advice: do not eat before you go. We had sushi, sashimi, sake, egg roll, fresh fruit and so much more all included in the cost of the tour. A terrific morning in Tokyo.

Tour was informative, organized, and eloquently given. Yuko was an excellent guide and she paced our journey through the fish market perfectly. She was easy to talk with and ask questions to, and her thorough knowledge of each stop made the experience that more informative. Three hours flew by..
